The Nottingham Tournament was held at the University six times in the 1980s, but it was not held between 1989 and 2009. In 2010 the Nottingham University Go Society restarted the event which ran again until 2012.
For 2018 and 2019 Nottingham Go Club held instead a kyu training day with a rapid play tournament. For 2020 it was planned to return to 3-round-day format, but was cancelled. 2024 was on 7th September, 2025 on 6th September.
